Miracles

Miracles come in many forms,

All to us unbelievable.

Tiny boy with dark brown hair,

Tiny but still amazing.

How lives were changed with your arrival!

Each of us is better for it;

We love you, Grandma and I!!

OH HAPPY DAY!!!

OH HAPPY DAY!!! Last treatment FINISHED!!!

We had such a wonderful day today! We were so blessed by our guests that traveled to be with us for Aubrey's last treatment day.

As some of you may or may not know, Aubrey and Chloe are involved in Karate in Sturgis for little over a year now. Seeing what a testimony of Christ-like love that all of the leaders are has been such a wonderful thing for all the people that are involved and inspiring to watch during class time. The head instructor is Sifu Coree and her assistants are her mother Sibak Wright, Sibak Holder, Sibak Rachel, and Sibak Whitney. We were told when we joined the group that we were part of an Ohana (Hawaiian for family). Professor Lim and his wife Aunty Patrice are the owners of the school which has schools all through the States, Portugal, Austria and ??am I missing one?? Professor Lim and Aunty have tried very hard to impart the "family" aspect of what they do, throughout all of their schools. As we've been involved over the past year, we have seen this transpire more and more with every event we've attended. I gave you all that history just to help you understand what took place for us today!

Aunty Patrice flew in to Denver from Arizona this morning to be with Aubrey for her last treatment. With her was Andi, (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!) a karate mom whom we had such a pleasure meeting. It was such an honor having these 2 women with us, THEN we got word that our Sifu Coree and Sibak Wright were going to come from SD as well to be with Aubrey for her last treatment. They came bearing gifts for the girls andloved and hugged on us all ALOT! It was such a joy being with these women today and they helped to make this milestone so special and so memorable! As we were finishing up saying last minute goodbyes to all the docs and techs and Receptionist Bill (mentioned in earlier post), Aunty Patrice had a surprise for Aubrey. Aunty told us that she was given an Inspirational Achievement Award this past June when she was in Chicago. The award said that she had been an inspiration to thousands of martial artists who have learned from her leadership and will continue in her path. Aunty said that Aubrey had been an inspiration to her and so many others and that she wished to give her Inspiration Award to Aubrey. What an honor it was and was such a surprise to us all. Hence, the new profile pic of Aubrey holding the award. Thank you for the great honor Aunty! Please browse through pictures that I posted of our day today!

After lunch we came back to the House and gave a quick tour. Sifu and Sibak had to head back to SD for a meeting the next morning. Aunty and Andi came up and spent some time with us this afternoon and helped us pack and occupy the girls and just spent time chatting and sharing with one another. For us it was such a wonderful time and so encouraging! Chloe kept Andi VERY busy! She'll probably need to sleep on the flight back to AZ!! ha!

What a wonderful group of people and what an awesome Ohana! We have received cards, letters e-mails and gifts and so much love and support from all over including Portugal and Austria. When they say family, the meant it!! Thank you all!!!

Earlier this evening we had some other family come and visit! Katie, Greg and Landon came and it was so great to get to see them before we left for home. Thank you Tina and Belinda with Landon's daycare and all who participated with Tina's bracelet idea. What a blessing!!!!

Yesterday I got to see my long time friend from grade school, Anita. She came bearing boxes for us so we could pack!!! AND treated us to dinner the night before! Thank you my dear friend!!!!!!

Tonight as I type this, Aubrey is saying she wants to come home tomorrow (Saturday). I told her that we'll see how she is after breakfast, and go from there! The last 3 or 4 weeks, right about breakfast time she starts to not feeling very good and ends up sleeping 4-6 hours. So we'll play it by ear, and see how she feels after breakfast. If she's good, we'll kick it into high gear and get the place all cleaned up and linens/towels washed so we can hit the road. We are thinking we may have to stop half way or something because the trip might be too long all in one shot...but who knows...she has surprised us ALOT this last week! OH...I almost forgot to tell you....today for her last treatment, she walked into the building and into radiation. (A lot of walking for her at one time) and did pretty great! It made her tired, but she did it anyway! YEAH AUBREY!!! I have a feeling she's going to push through tomorrow and try to get home even if she is tired....so we'll have to see how she does! We'll just play it by ear! We may drive part of the way and stop and then come in the next day. Who knows??? Only God knows!!!

Both Aubrey and Chloe are anxious to have a sleep over when we get home. Hopefully, they'll wait a few days so Mom and Dad can recover a bit.
Love to you all! Thank you for your prayers, love, support and encouragement. We couldn't have done it without you and our mighty God who graced us to walk through this part of our journey!

All of you are truly AMAZING!
Love,
Brenda

Voices on the breeze

Wind rushes gently through the trees,
Humming birds flit from flower to flower,

Bees buzz softly hour after hour,
And voices come to me on the breeze
Whispering peace to my troubled heart
Yet I hear thunder in the distant clouds,

"Delay the storm, Dear God," I pray.
"Give me peace for one more day.
Give me strength for that coming storm,
but for now, let me enjoy the morn."

A little finch perched upon my sill
And bid my heart be still.

Torn

Which way do I choose?
I love them both,
But I can't
Go both
ways

Choose
Which one
For just today
Will be the one.
You can't go both ways!

How much do I care
About what others think?
Make the choice
Then feel
Peace
