Ole red has been replaced.

I knew it was time do do something last Sunday when I went to church. I got into my old rusty 1990 Nissan in my navy blue suit and headed of to church. When I came back to pick Betty up for meetings, a group of young adults pulled along side me. They pointed to the pickup and snickered so that I could see. I was wounded, but I knew that if I didn't do something soon, I would not be able to do anything.
Saturday we went shopping. The salesman laughed when he saw what we had brought to trade in. They finally offered us a small amount for my trusty old vehicle and came home with a new set of wheels.

The salesman returned one of my old license plates. He said the other one was rusted on and he couldn't get it off. That was a likely story! I wouldn't want those old plates on a new car any way.

Dad came over to visit today. He has a new vehicle too. He was telling me that his is bigger and prettier than mine. I am glad he feels that way. Betty and I kept our old Venture Van (Betty's car) and this is to be my car. I sure like it and so does Brewster. Every time I go out to get in the car, he insists that he should go too.

New Lil'Red is cute!! I'll bet you look fancier than a whole herd of toy poodles driving around in that cute little car!! LOL (Sorry, couldn't help myself!! tee hee)

I really do like it! Wishing I was getting the kind of gas mileage that you'll be getting with your fancy new car!! Wanna trade?

It's little, but it sure does pass the gas statations. I think I'll keep it. Thanks for the offer.

I like the car too. I think it is smart to have a car that doesn't take so much gas. I am happy for you. Love you.

What is it besides a car?

It's a 2008 Ford Focus. I said I would never buy an brand new car. I said I would never buy a Ford. Betty talked me into going in to see the cars on sale, and I was smitten.

I am fascinated with the new gagetry. The car has bluetooth capabilities that allow it to connect to my cell phone. I can call numbers by just pushing one button and then telling it who to call.

I am having a hard time finding enough excuses to go somewhere.

Barbara, Jeanette's mom, just got rid of her Focus. She had some mechanical problems with it.

I like that little red car! I will not fit the dixon family it it, but that's ok! :D

How very exciting to have a new car! You've only had the pickup since you started driving again, right? Well past time for something to spoil yourself in!

Letting go of the pickup was difficult because it was my only vehicle up to this point and I was attached to it. I am enjoying the gagets in the the new little car. I am also enjoying the mileage.

I know that you had another vehicle or two before that old pickup. I ruined a couple of them for you.

My life as a driver is divided into to eras: pre epilepsy and post epilepsy.

My pre years were frustrating years. I had a terrible time keeping cars. Larry wrecked two, Bonnie wrecked one, and Doris Faye caught one on fire.

After 25 years of not driving, I bought a pickup from David Lawson. I was having it towed as often as I drove it. I was glad to be rid of it. My red pickup came next. It served me well, but finally wore out. I am enjoying my new car most of the time.

Yesterday, was one of the other times. Brewster and I went for a walk at the Garden of the Gods. About half way there, I realized I may not have a leash. I pulled over to check and as I got out, I must have locked the door. I couldn't get in. I tried to call Betty. The new car has Sync which pairs up with my BlueTooth phone. I tried to call Betty, but the phone in the car took over. I could not hear her, nor could she hear me. I had to walk home to get another set of keys and a leash. I hated leaving the running car with a dog inside. Technology is sometimes wonderful. Sometimes, it's not.

Get one of those magnetic key holders and put an extra key on the frame of the car.

I am getting to the point where I do not like so much technology in everything. When it quits working it takes hundreds of dollars to repair it, or it just won't get fixed.

Our Grand Marquis had a problem with the lights. The computer for the lights was replaced. The lights would just go off as you drove along. If you held the dimmer switch in the bright position they would stay on. What a bother. It is dangerous too.

I'll get the key holder.

I need to slow down and pay attention in life too. When I get into a situation like this, it's because I am in to big a hurry.

Too much technology can be a pain. It's costly as you indicate, and it's sometimes an indication of my greed for "things". We got along without cell phones before they were invented. I wonder how many other things in my life could I get along without.

Did you get a key holder?

Kent said...

No, we got not key holder.

Betty has a nice key organizer that we use to hang our keys. She often is looking for her keys because she forgot to hang them on the organizer.

Lately, I've been stuck with a set of keys and no car. Betty's been putting lots of miles on the new car.
