Summer came and we enjoyed the flowers. We enjoyed the early daffodils, jonquils and tulips. We enjoyed the fragrance of the lavendar and mint. We enjoyed the iceplant and other ground covers and they formed a beautiful quilt over the soil. We watch Iris and periwinkle bloom. We started to clean up the weeds around the outside edges. The results were pleasing. We enjoyed the flowers and forgot about the weeds.
As blossoms came and went, they left behind a tangle of stems holding spent blossoms. The color is nice, but the garden needs tending.
Our lives are like the flower garden. Our time is colored by the enjoyable things we do. Trips and entertainment make our lives enjoyable. There can be weeds in our life as well. We develop bad habits and unhealty attitudes. These weeds can choke out the beauty of life's garden if we don't take the time to weed and prune.
Early morning meditation is a time that serves this purpose for me. I read from the scriptures. I write in my journal, I read things that help me grow, and I ponder how I will be spending the day. I can tell when I have been neglecting the garden by not taking this time at the beginning of the day. Unhealthy habits and attitudes creep in and I know it is time to tend the garden again.

Why Kent, You have become a philosopher!
Your focus determines your reality.
Are you making fun of me?
No, I am just making an observation. I find it admirable that you philosophize. I have always valued your counsel.
I am surprised that nobody has commented on my incorrect date stamps on my photos. The ones that will take now will be correct. If not, please say something.
The timestamp on our photos reverts to 2003 when the batteries run down and the camera needs to be reset. We have several photos that are off by several years.
How is the vegetable garden coming? You could plant some quick vegetables like radishes and onions. It is getting late.
I am impressed with your flowers. All of them look pretty to me. I also appreciate your words too. I enjoy the blog so much. I feel that I have had a pleasant time reading your poetry and thoughts. Mom
We have enjoyed the flowers, but they require work. I worked in the front flowerbed this morning and got a wheel barrel full of weeds. It was a lot of work, but I also enjoyed looking at the cleaner flower bed.
I enjoy the blog too. At first it was frustrating when I didn't see as many responses as I wanted. Now I am really enjoying writing just for the sake of writing.
It is wonderful to feel connected to family again.
Maybe your biorhythms were just at a low point.
I did notice that Laraine posted an article about her father's funeral on the Bingham BLOG.
I didn't even think about checking my biorythms. Betty was elated this morning to harvest her first vegetable. She pulled a red radish and washed it and shared it with me. Chloe was upset that we didn't share with her, so we are watching for another to harvest for her.
I was reallly excited to see Laraine's posts on Grandma and Grandpa Bingham's blog. It was so nice to see pictures of them and get a glimpse into their lives.
How are your biorhythms?
Mine are fine, how are yours?
Mine are variable.
